Frequently asked questions
How do I resize without stretching?
Keep aspect ratio enabled and change one dimension. The other is calculated from the original ratio. A 50% scale halves both dimensions.
Are dimensions the same as file size?
No. Pixel dimensions describe width and height. File size also depends on format, content and encoding. Use Image Compression to target a smaller file, or this tool for target dimensions.
Can I set width and height independently?
Yes, disable aspect-ratio locking, but the image may stretch. Crop first if you need a particular shape without distorting the subject.
What formats and limits are supported?
Browser-readable PNG, JPEG, WebP and the first GIF frame are supported, up to 10 MB and 32 MP per input. Output is 1–32767 pixels per side and at most 32 MP.
Does the small preview reduce export resolution?
No. The display preview fits your screen; export uses the pixel dimensions shown in the toolbar. PNG and WebP can preserve transparency; JPEG uses a filled background.
