How does cropping differ from resizing?
Cropping removes content outside the selection while retaining selected pixels. Resizing changes the whole image dimensions. Resize after cropping if you need an exact output size.
Can I crop to exact pixels?
Enter X, Y, width and height. Coordinates start at the original image’s top-left corner and are bounded inside it. A locked ratio adjusts the other dimension.
Can I move the selection on a touchscreen?
Yes. Drag inside to move, use the bottom-right handle to resize, or use ratios and numeric controls. A scaled preview retains original pixel coordinates.
Does cropping a transparent PNG add a white background?
PNG and WebP preserve transparent pixels within the selection. JPEG fills a background. The original file stays unchanged.
