Choosing tools and common questions
When should I edit, annotate or sign a PDF?
Edit PDF adds text, images and redaction. Annotate PDF adds notes and highlights. Sign PDF adds typed, drawn or uploaded signatures. Each entry focuses on a simpler set of controls.
How do merge, split and organize differ?
Merge joins files into one PDF. Split creates separate files from page groups. Organize reorders, duplicates or removes pages inside one file. Choose based on whether you are combining files or arranging pages.
Does image extraction give the same output as page extraction?
No. Page extraction creates a PDF of selected whole pages. Image extraction exports embedded image resources and does not render every page as a screenshot.
Are PDFs uploaded, and what are the limits?
Preview, merge, split, organize, rotate, crop, remove and extract pages run. Each input is limited to 10 MB and 200 pages, with up to 200 pages after structural edits. Editing, annotation, signing and password tools still require uploading. Server downloads remain available for 24 hours; download browser results before refreshing or closing.
Can password tools recover a forgotten password?
No. Protect PDF sets an opening password. Unlock PDF requires the correct password and does not crack unknown passwords; unencrypted files are reported as not needing unlocking.
