Frequently asked questions
How do I choose the frame capture time?
Upload a playable video and select a position with the slider or seconds field, such as 12.5. Check the picture, then generate a PNG. Each capture saves one frame.
Does the captured image retain source resolution?
Yes. A 1920 × 1080 video yields a 1920 × 1080 image rather than the smaller page preview. Existing source blur, compression and motion blur remain visible.
Why can some videos not be captured directly?
The current browser must be able to play the video. Identical extensions can contain different codecs. If preview fails, convert to a compatible MP4 before capturing.
Does frame extraction save JPG or PNG?
It saves a still PNG. Use Image Converter or Image Compressor afterward for JPG, WebP or a smaller file.
Why might a time value not capture the exact frame I expected?
Video consists of discrete frames and the player seeks to a displayable frame near the requested time. Adjust while checking the picture. Frame-number search and automatic full-video extraction are not provided.
What size and duration limits apply to Video Frame Extractor?
Video input is limited to 100 MB, 10 minutes and a 1920 × 1080 pixel budget. Captures retain source dimensions. The browser must decode the video; meeting the size limit does not ensure codec compatibility.
Does Video Frame Extractor require registration?
No account is required and the tool is currently free. Download results before closing or refreshing the page. Initial loading needs an internet connection; processing speed depends on the device and file size.
