Frequently asked questions
How do I start and stop browser recording?
Press Start and allow microphone access, then Stop when finished. Listen and download the native recording, or choose MP3/WAV and Generate to convert it.
When is microphone permission requested and access stopped?
Access is requested only on Start. Audio tracks close on Stop or leaving the tool. Allow microphone permission and use a secure online connection; review browser permissions if access is denied.
Why is my recording WebM, and can I save MP3?
Native format depends on browser support and may be WebM, M4A or Ogg. Save it directly after stopping, or choose MP3/WAV and generate a converted copy.
What should I check if a recording has no sound?
Check the selected microphone, device mute state and browser permission. Make a short test recording. The site cannot repair a disconnected device or change your system microphone settings.
Does this record music playing on my computer?
It records the microphone rather than directly capturing system audio. Music picked up from speakers can include room noise and echo.
What size and duration limits apply to Online Audio Recorder?
Each recording is limited to 5 minutes and 10 MB and stops when a limit is reached. Save the native recording afterward; converted output is limited to 150 MB. Make a short microphone test first.
