Frequently asked questions
What does the volume percentage mean?
The range is 0%–400%. 100% keeps source gain, 50% reduces it and 200% increases it. These are signal-gain values, not percentages of perceived loudness. Generate and listen; a player volume control does not change export gain.
Does boosting volume remove noise or repair distortion?
No. Boosting also raises background noise and cannot repair distortion already recorded. Peak limiting helps with overload, but start with modest gain and listen for excessive compression.
Does zero-percent volume remove the audio stream?
No. At 0%, an audio stream remains with silent content. Use Audio Remover to remove tracks entirely from a video.
Why does 400% not make sound arbitrarily loud?
Peak limiting reduces overload, so gain cannot grow indefinitely without affecting the sound. Already-loud sources may lose dynamics at high gain; lower values can sound more natural.
Which formats can I save after adjusting volume?
Choose MP3 or WAV. MP3 usually suits playback and sharing, while WAV suits further editing. Format choice does not remove noise or guarantee better quality.
What size and duration limits apply to Audio Volume Booster?
Audio input is limited to 10 MB and 30 minutes, with generated output up to 150 MB. WAV can be much larger than an MP3 source; choose MP3 or a shorter track if needed.
