Frequently asked questions
How do I crop landscape video to portrait?
Choose the 9:16 portrait preset or drag a portrait selection on the preview. Keep the subject inside the selection, then generate MP4. Cropping removes the outer picture rather than squeezing a landscape frame.
Does cropping a video change its duration?
No. Cropping changes the picture area and output dimensions, not the source start and end times. Use Video Trimmer to remove the opening or closing seconds.
Are cropped edges or original audio kept?
Picture outside the selection is absent from the export, while original sound is retained. The source is unchanged, so you can select a different area. Use Audio Remover if you also want silence.
Which crop aspect ratios are available?
Use 1:1, 16:9, 9:16 or a free rectangle. Output coordinates and dimensions align to even pixels for encoding, so final dimensions may differ slightly from the preview calculation.
Can I remove black borders from a video?
Keep the useful picture inside the rectangle and leave borders outside it. Borders are not automatically detected; check the preview to avoid cutting subtitles or the subject.
What size and duration limits apply to Video Cropper?
Video input is limited to 100 MB, 10 minutes and a 1920 × 1080 frame pixel budget, also applied to portrait frames. Output is limited to 150 MB; trim a shorter source interval if the output is too large.
Does Video Cropper require registration?
No account is required and the tool is currently free. Download results before closing or refreshing the page. Initial loading needs an internet connection; processing speed depends on the device and file size.
