Frequently asked questions
How do I set audio fade-in and fade-out?
Enter separate fade-in and fade-out durations: for example, two seconds of increasing volume at the start and three seconds of decreasing volume at the end. Zero disables a fade. Generate and listen to both edges.
Can fade duration exceed the track length?
No. Each fade must be between zero and the track duration, measured in seconds. Short clips need short fades rather than values longer than the file.
What happens when fade-in and fade-out overlap?
Their volume effects combine and the overlapping middle can become quieter. A four-second clip with three-second fade-in and fade-out has two seconds of overlap. Listen to check the result.
Do fades change audio duration?
They change edge volume without cutting or extending the track. Use Audio Trimmer or Silence Remover to remove parts of the beginning or end.
Can I fade every join in a merged recording?
This tool treats only the overall start and end. It does not detect internal joins or overlap tracks for crossfades. Use a multitrack editor for per-join editing.
What size and duration limits apply to Audio Fade Editor?
Audio input is limited to 10 MB and 30 minutes, with generated output up to 150 MB. WAV can be much larger than an MP3 source; choose MP3 or a shorter track if needed.
Does Audio Fade Editor require registration?
