Frequently asked questions
How do I trim audio into a phone ringtone?
Select a segment up to 40 seconds, set fades and choose the output format. Generate, listen, download and install using your phone’s ringtone import workflow.
Which formats suit iPhone and Android ringtones?
iPhone ringtone workflows generally use M4R, while Android commonly accepts MP3. WAV is also available for other uses. Import steps and accepted duration depend on the device and operating-system version.
Will downloading automatically set my phone ringtone?
No. Downloading saves a file and does not change your phone settings. Import it and select it in the operating system; save the generated file first.
Is making M4R just renaming an MP3?
No. Selecting M4R generates AAC audio for that file format rather than only changing a name. Renaming an arbitrary MP3 does not make a valid M4R file.
Why can a very short ringtone fail to generate?
Check that neither fade exceeds the selected segment. A half-second segment cannot have a one-second fade-in. Reduce fades or set them to zero, and ensure End follows Start.
What size and duration limits apply to Ringtone Maker?
The source can be up to 10 MB and 30 minutes; the selected ringtone interval is limited to 40 seconds. The whole song need not be 40 seconds long. Neither fade may exceed the selected interval, and output is limited to 150 MB.
Does Ringtone Maker require registration?
No account is required and the tool is currently free. Download results before closing or refreshing the page. Initial loading needs an internet connection; processing speed depends on the device and file size.
