Frequently asked questions
How do semitones relate to raising or lowering pitch?
Choose -12 to +12 semitones. Positive raises pitch, negative lowers it and zero keeps it. Twelve semitones is an octave; choose +1 to raise one semitone or -2 to lower two, then generate and listen.
Can pitch shifting preserve duration?
Duration is approximately preserved rather than simply speeding up or slowing down the track. Processing can still slightly affect timing or timbre, especially at large shifts.
Does pitch adjustment affect only vocals?
It shifts the whole track, including voices, instruments and other sound. It does not separate vocals or automatically correct individual notes.
Can I hear a pitch setting immediately in the source player?
Pitch changes must be generated before listening. The source player keeps original pitch; its speed menu is not a pitch preview and changes tempo.
Can pitch shifting keep completely unchanged audio quality?
No guarantee is possible. Shifting processes the sound and larger changes can affect timbre or introduce artifacts. Start with small semitone changes, listen and keep the source.
What size and duration limits apply to Audio Pitch Changer?
Audio input is limited to 10 MB and 30 minutes, with generated output up to 150 MB. WAV can be much larger than an MP3 source; choose MP3 or a shorter track if needed.
