Frequently asked questions
How do I split a recording into separate files?
Enter comma-separated times. For example, 60, 120 divides a three-minute recording into three one-minute pieces. Generate, listen and download separately or together as ZIP.
Does splitting automatically detect different speakers?
No. Splits follow your time points rather than speaker, song or content detection. Listen to find the boundaries and enter their times.
Does packaging audio as ZIP reduce sound quality again?
No. Each piece is already encoded as MP3 or WAV. ZIP packages those existing files; unpacking yields the same clips without another audio encode.
Can audio split points be unsorted or repeated?
Points are sorted and deduplicated. Every point must be greater than zero and less than the track duration. Up to 11 points create up to 12 pieces.
Should I split recordings into MP3 or WAV?
MP3 usually suits sharing several pieces; WAV suits further editing. All generated pieces together must fit within 150 MB, a limit long WAV exports reach more readily.
What size and duration limits apply to Audio Splitter?
Audio input is limited to 10 MB and 30 minutes, with generated output up to 150 MB. WAV can be much larger than an MP3 source; choose MP3 or a shorter track if needed. Split into up to 12 pieces; combined clip outputs must remain within 150 MB.
