Frequently asked questions

How do I scan a QR code from a screenshot?

Upload the screenshot. Keep the code complete, unobscured and large enough. When several codes appear in one image, crop the intended one first.

Will a decoded link open automatically?

No. The raw result appears first. Only an explicit click opens an HTTP or HTTPS address; other content remains text. Verify the destination before opening it.

Why can’t the scanner read my QR image?

Cropped corners, blur, low contrast or a large logo can prevent decoding. Try the original resolution or crop around the complete code rather than enlarging a blurred screenshot.

Does it use my camera or scan barcodes?

It currently decodes uploaded still images in PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF format. Live camera scanning and general barcode recognition are not included.

Can I keep the original image?

The original image stays unchanged. Images are limited to 10 MB and 32 megapixels. A copied Wi-Fi result may contain the network password.
