Use PNG to WebP for website illustrations and interface graphics. WebP can store transparency, but this converter's default WebP encoding is lossy, so inspect edges and small text before publishing.
Example: when to use this tool
A website illustration has transparent areas and is saved as PNG. Convert a copy to WebP, then check transparent edges and small lettering before choosing which file to publish.
Quality and output
Default WebP output uses lossy encoding. PNG transparency can be retained, but RGB pixels can change. Do not assume a fixed percentage reduction or lossless output.
How to use
- Upload a valid PNG file.
- Run the conversion to WEBP.
- Download the result and check it before replacing your original.
Before you download
Compare small text, fine lines and transparent edges at normal viewing size. A successful conversion does not guarantee that this format is the best choice for a logo or screenshot.
