Use JPG to PNG when an editor or document workflow requires PNG. It stores the decoded photograph as a lossless bitmap; it does not remove its background or create transparent regions.
Example: when to use this tool
A presentation template asks for PNG, but your photograph is JPG. Convert a copy and insert the PNG. Its background remains: a format change does not cut out the subject.
Quality and output
PNG output preserves the decoded raster without another lossy image encoding step. It cannot recover detail missing from JPG or lossy WebP, and it is not guaranteed to be smaller.
How to use

- Download the result and check it before replacing your original.
Before you download
Changing to PNG does not remove JPG artifacts or improve a lossy source. For failed inputs, check that the file is a genuine image rather than a renamed extension, and try a simple static image.
