Use MP3 to WAV when an audio editor expects uncompressed PCM. WAV is convenient for editing, but decoding an MP3 does not reconstruct sound removed by its earlier lossy encoding.
Example: when to use this tool
An editing workflow requests WAV and your recording is MP3. Convert a copy and allow space for uncompressed audio. WAV contains decoded MP3 sound, not a restored studio master.
Quality and output
This route writes 16-bit little-endian PCM WAV. The decoded sound comes from the MP3 source, so a larger file does not imply better recording quality or restored high-frequency detail.
How to use
- Upload a valid MP3 file.
- Run the conversion to WAV.
- Download the result and check it before replacing your original.
Before you download
Keep your MP3 source. WAV usually needs more storage and cannot restore discarded sound. A file under the upload limit can still produce a considerably larger download.
